Back in the fall of 2007, two Graduate/Faculty InterVarsity staff noticed that God was bringing a new wave of missional faculty to Boston. Some were our former students who had led our graduate ministries. Some were friends from college or grad school. Some just happened to sit next to us in church! Many didn’t particularly want to come to Boston, but God led them here anyway.
Curious what God might be doing, we gathered ten faculty and their spouses for brunch and conversation. Over chile relleno casserole and raspberry almond coffee cake, we asked two questions:
- What have you seen God doing on campus?
- What do you want to see God do on campus?
The conversation that ensued was vigorous, energizing and life-giving. And thus, the Boston Faculty Fellowship was born.
Our mission is to be a redeeming influence among our students, colleagues, and in our academic disciplines.
Our dream is to see God transform the intellectual climate of the world.
